This trail connects Skógar and Þórsmörk across the pass between Eyjafjallajökull and Mýrdalsjökull. Waterfall valleys, upland snow and landscapes shaped by the 2010 eruption give it distinct stages.
It is a long, exposed mountain route. Lowland sunshine does not establish safe conditions on the pass. Check snow, visibility, transport and accommodation, and change plans when conditions require it.
