Valahnúkur offers a summit walk through Þórsmörk’s terrain. As the trail rises from woodland, rivers, ridges and glacier-framed valleys come into view.
A shorter walk still involves ascent and exposure to weather. Check access to Þórsmörk separately: a road shown on a map does not establish that an ordinary rental car can use it.
